yay for friday! i'm excited for tomorrow cuz i get to shop and see a movie and have movie theater popcorn and fazoli's. this is all very exciting to me.
let's see...mtv movie awards...i'm way proud of reese witherspoon...and mandy moore. you know, i've been a mandy moore fan for sooo long. since before anyone knew who she was i had a website about her. course i gave up on that after awhile because i'm lazy, but still. so when i see her win something like that it makes me feel happy for her.
what was up with the panic room skit? that didn't amuse me very much. and i also have to comment on nicole kidman's fashion choice. it's the MTV movie awards, okay? you go casual or you wear something cute and fun...you don't wear a boring black pantsuit. just a thought. that was another thing - i was amazed at how few ugly outfits there were. i don't think i saw one that i thought was gross. except perhaps one of sarah michelle gellar's. but ya know, she wore a lot of outfits so at least one of them had to be nasty. i'm way jealous of the skirt kelly osbourne wore at the preshow...it had james dean all over it! the whole time the white stripes performed i sat looking at my TV with a perplexed expression on my face. that whole bit confused me a lot. but that's okay, who asked me?
today laura and i are going to go to MCC to get transfer things, as i probably mentioned yesterday. unfortunately we have no idea WHERE in MCC the place we're supposed to go is. it's all good. while we're out i think i might see if my film is back. after my last experience with film developing i'm not going to get my hopes up.

good afternoon. it's wednesday. today i filled out alllll my thank yous from graduation. and i washed the dishes. because since i did that my mom is going to take me to des moines this weekend to go shopping and see about a boy. la la la.
robert redford: one of hollywood's most ellusive superstars. sorry. i've been watching too much AMC. lex is whining. wow. paul newman is still alive. at least in this interview he is. he sounds like a smoker. blech. angie likes paul newman. she made me watch cat on a hot tin roof. that movie was interesting because it all took place in like 2 rooms. a lot of talking, not a lot of action. but i've seen worse movies, that's for sure.
lex is chewing on stuff. i wish he would sleep. i like it when lex sleeps because it makes my job easy. ho hum. i'm rather bored.
laura took me to see her shoe chair. there's this chair in the shape of a shoe at big lots that she's in love with. it's cute and all, but i'm not sure why she's so obsessed with it.
lex has decided he likes getting in the bathtub. he can hop in and out. it's really adorable. he has a hard time jumping onto my lap and yet he has no problem with the bathtub. he's such a goof.
hey! james dean was just on this ad for naked hollywood. lol i laugh. hmm. why does lex keep whining? he was just outside...now he's eating carpet...what a handful.
haaa bruce willis was an extra in the verdict. see, you can get the joys of AMC without ever watching it just by reading my blog! blah. i'm going to go now. because i know you really don't care about the verdict.

okay, i recently uncovered the winners of the mtv movies awards (not like it was tough) so if you don't care to know as of yet, you might want to skip this post. i'm going to rant and rave a bit.
okay, number one: lord of the rings won best movie. i honestly don't remember the nominees but i bet that's what i voted for so it's all good. i am a bit disappointed that ewan mcgregor & nicole kidman didn't win best kiss. what's up with mtv viewers voting for same sex kisses, anyway? on top of that...how's come nicole kidman always gets nominated for and wins for moulin rouge but ewan never does? what is that? he was WAY better than will smith was in ali. but as i mentioned before, i don't clearly remember the nominees so ewan might not have even been nominated. which would have been equally as irritating. but i agree completely with both the breakthrough performance awards: mandy moore for a walk to remember and orlando bloom for lord of the rings. i'm way excited to see orlando get his award. he makes me laugh. going back to moulin rouge...ewan & nicole DID win best musical performance or some such thing so i guess that's okay. heck, pearl harbor won best action sequence. who woulda thought? okay, i'm leaving now. for the moment. ;)

here it is, another dreary morning in the lovely state of iowa. i love my puppy and all but for the sake of summer i wish he was a bit more grown up. i can't really DO anything when i have to watch him all the time. i mean, if i want to leave i can put him in his lil' pen but when i'm at home i feel bad if i don't have him out and about. he cries when he's in his pen and he knows there are people home. however, when he's out i'm limited to doing a very small amount of things: watching tv, sitting in front of the computer, reading...that's about it. not that i have much else to do, it's just the concept. besides, after he chewed through my speaker wire yesterday (i got that fixed, by the way), i'm not all that excited about having him near my computer.
i think i might adventure out of the house to buy a magazine or something today. i have all this graduation $ that my mom is determined not to let me spend on anything but college books. i understand why, but since i don't really have a source of income that would have been nice to have for OTHER college-related stuff. like...dorm decorations. lol.
WHY IS AUDIOGALAXY GOING SO SLOW?! i hope it's just because of this song because i would be really unhappy if it suddenly took like four hours to download a song. i think i'll download kazaa just in case. ;)
hmm. well, i think after my mom comes home for lunch i'll pop in moulin rouge. i could watch that movie like 600 times and never get sick of it. i started writing a review for the sum of all fears but the plot is kinda complicated and i got sick of writing it so...who knows if i'll ever finish it. perhaps. the next interesting movie that comes out is minority report. emily and i are determined to find out why the heck it's called minority report.
yesterday i was telling my mom about the preview i saw for that new harrison ford movie and how i recognized a guy in it and i finally realized it was qui-gon jinn. i hardly recognized him without the jedi hair. my mom was like, "i recognize him a lot better without the hair. he was in nell." and all the sudden i had a revelation. i just watched that movie a couple months ago on tv and i figured the actor was well known but i didn't realized it was liam neeson. that's just crazy.
okay, i just have to mention the obvious: now that i have nothing to do all day except watch the puppy my blogs will become very lengthy and appear much more often. sometimes several times a day.
i should transfer all my website stuff to this computer and download ftp & paintshop so i can work on the site on this computer. that would probably be good. i could post all the pages i haven't had time to work on. i really want to have ALL my stuff from the other computer on here but that would take an eternity to move. i'll just take the important stuff and tell my mom not to delete my stuff in case i want something later. oh blah. lex ran off into the other room, i better go track him down.

YAY. i finally remembered my blogger password so i could update from my new computer. go me.
i just learned that audrey hepburn fans were unhappy that jennifer love hewitt was cast as her in a tv movie. they would have preferred natalie portman or calista flockhart. not that you care. i'm watching the much more movie thingy on AMC for breakfast at tiffany's. mostly because i have nothing much else to do. that's a lie. actually, i'd rather be reading my new book or perhaps picking up some party stuff from yesterday. HOWEVER, i'm going to wait until my dad comes home and can watch the puppy before i do that.
so let's see...it's been a few days since i blogged. my mom decided to be sneaky and the other day a brand new dell computer showed up at my house and i was surprised. pleasantly though. but today lex chewed through the cord on the speakers so i can't listen to anything until it gets fixed. i wasn't very happy with lex when he did that.
yesterday was graduation...which was predictably long and boring. not quite as bad as graduation rehearsal though. so now i don't really have anything to do. ever. lol. the next thing i really HAVE to do is orientation at u of i and that's not until july. so...i guess i'll be doing a whole lotta nothing this summer. but that's nothing new. i actually enjoy it. there are some fun movies coming out soon. and now i can spend lots of time doing stupid things that i couldn't do during school because i had no time. like...this. lol. yeah. i'm gonna go have a piece of cake.

good news - i got my housing notice from U of I today and we got a room in mayflower! yay! now i just have to find out if stacie & laura are in the adjoining room. buuut laura is babysitting and stacie is at work until 5 so i dunno when i'll figure that out.
i think we're going to have a josh night tomorrow since black hawk down comes out. emily said that k-mart will give it to me for $15.99 if i bring in the best buy ad that i saw...price matching or some such thing...i do believe i will take advantage of that because there isn't a best buy in marshalltown and 4 bucks is 4 bucks, right? that's, like, a whole magazine. lol...i wonder if i'm supposed to tell kelsey about josh night. i told her a long time ago it would be june 11 but i bet she forgot. hmm. well, we'll see. i think we're going to use the josh cookies idea - we're going to use the gingerbread man cookie cutter thingy and then decorate them like josh.
nothing much going on today. i slept a bit. watched most of mission: impossible for lack of anything else to do. filled out my application...but i realized i never finished filling in my social security number. i'm sure they'll REALLY want me when they see that. ;)
now that we know where we're living, i need to talk to courtney about who's bringing what and things like that.
my neck is really sore today and i don't know why. lex is being good. sleeping, as usual. he doesn't get hyper until my mom gets home. at least if i'm lucky he doesn't.
i'm hungry. today i've had a blueberry muffin and a granola bar. my mom came home with food for HERSELF at lunch. but me? nope. i don't get any food. i just like to whine. not that there's anything to eat here. i was thinking i might try to hunt down some vanilla pear yogurt but i bet it's all gone. i put all this stuff on the grocery list but apparently last time my mom went to the store she didn't take the list because nothing i wrote down is here and the list is still hanging on the refrigerator.
there are tons of movies coming out tomorrow. i'll be renting 3 and buying 1, i believe. good thing they're 5 day rentals and i have no life so i'll be able to get through them all. if you don't go in the day they come out, they're all gone and you can't rent them for 5 days. it's the video rental science. yesterday i realized that hollywood video doesn't have donnie darko. what is THAT? i love that movie!
i was going to start a new section on here for weekly movie recommendations. i still will, most likely...but i need to download cute ftp or do it on the other computer. hmm. maybe i'll download that NOW and get it over with.

as you can probably tell, i changed the layout. there could be some problems. if there are...sorry. deal with it. so far everything seems to be working decently. that doesn't happen often.
i had graduation rehearsal this morning. it was extremely long and boring. they went through and had EVERYONE walk across the stage after we practiced SITTING DOWN for like an hour. i'm waiting for my mom to finish cleaning the carpet so we can go to wal-mart. she was like "i'm going to take a little nap before i finish the last room" and she's been sleeping forever. it's really getting irritating. but hey - gave me a chance to finish posting the layout, right?

i don't remember if i talked about laura inviting me to washington dc but...i didn't think i would be able to go because my mom wasn't about to pay for it, but laura says she thinks they're going to drive and that we would stay @ her sister's house so it wouldn't really be that expensive. i'll have to talk to my mom again. i really want to go cuz i've never been east. if we drove i'd get to see all sorts of places i've never been! i feel like i need to go *somewhere* this summer and that'd be a good place to go AND probably cheaper than anywhere else so i hope i get to go.

i don't remember if i talked about laura inviting me to washington dc but...i didn't think i would be able to go because my mom wasn't about to pay for it, but laura says she thinks they're going to drive and that we would stay @ her sister's house so it wouldn't really be that expensive. i'll have to talk to my mom again. i really want to go cuz i've never been east. if we drove i'd get to see all sorts of places i've never been! i feel like i need to go *somewhere* this summer and that'd be a good place to go AND probably cheaper than anywhere else so i hope i get to go.
well, i've got everything uploaded now so i guess i'll go wait on my mom.

i'm officially DONE with school. well. kind of. tomorrow is the last day for seniors but it's also senior skip day so...i'll probably just go to turn in my gym lock and then leave. emily, stacie and i have a bit of a plan but i don't know if it will work out. if not i'm sure we can find *something* to do.
last night was tim's party...it's kinda sad, he left last night for basic training or some such thing. it's really nice that i don't have school stuff anymore. no homework...no tests...yay! i took all my semester tests today. the AP english test was kinda icky but it doesn't count for much so i'm guessing as long as i did decently my grade will be okay. government was boring. lots of matching. mr. holdiman just makes up grades for us anyway so i doubt the test will make much difference either way. as for spanish...there's no way i couldn't get an A in the class and the test seemed really easy. plus you could miss like 24 and still have an A on the test so i'm guessing i'll be just fine and dandy in that department.
let's see...tuesday. i don't really have anything to do tonight. but that's okay with me! i really need to put up the new layout. eventually i might start a new guestbook because i hate my bravenet guestbook. plus it only has like 3 entries in it so i won't be too sad to see it go. ;)

ugh i'm such a slacker. this weekend i've been amusing myself with a few graduation parties and whatnot. next weekend there are a TON. including mine. THAT should be interesting.
in a little bit i'm leaving to pick up laura...w'ere going shopping in ames. tim's party is tonight so i doubt we'll be there too terribly long. oh hey. jim's graduation party is today too. if i wouldn't have had the sudden urge to check my email i never would have known. he says EVERYONE is invited. so if you're in town, you can come too. moving on.
i went to see star wars again on friday. it was a happy thing. not as happy as last weekend when i saw it at merle hay and the screen was huge and the sound was cool, but still happy. i think we might go to fazoli's today. i don't think i could be in a town with a fazoli's and NOT go to fazoli's. i suppose it *has* happened in the past but not often. ;) stacie and i sometimes go to ames JUST for fazoli's. well, we find other stuff to do while we're there but our main purpose is to go to fazoli's.
i want the university of iowa to send me my dorm assignment because i realllllly want to be in mayflower and i might cry if i'm not. it's the biggest building AND it's a bit far away from the rest of campus so i'm hoping i got my application sent in soon enough that i'll be able to make it in. i really want it because the rooms are sooo much better and there's air conditioning and every room shares a kitchen and bathroom with one other room...as opposed to an entire floor or whatever...and there's all sorts of fun stuff in it since it's a few blocks away from everything it has it's own store and coffee shop and whatnot.
ahhh i need to remember to fill out my mcfarland clinic application today. i won't get the job because i'd have to take a medical terminology class and blah blah blah. but that's okay. at least i can say i tried, right? ;)
i haven't gone to tropical sno yet this year. last night stacie called me with happy tropical sno news...we have TWO now! isn't that exciting? last night laura, emily and i decided to go around town and take pictures of ourselves in interesting places or by landmarks and whatnot. i'm looking forward to seeing the one of laura driving a bulldozer with me in the little thingy that the dirt goes into. uhm...yeah. now i'm going to go. adios

i'll have my star wars review posted in just a bit. yay! meanwhile, i'm going to do a couple friday fives. i need to catch up.
1. You've just won a complete collection of movies starring one actor - what actor would you pick? uhm...well...probably matt damon. i mean, there are other actors i like MORE but he's done a lot of really good movies.
2. What was the last movie you saw in a theater? star wars!!! :)
3. What was the last video or DVD that you bought? let me think...legally blonde, i believe.
4. What movie could you watch over and over again and not get sick of? all the star wars movies, heartbreakers (soo cute!), the wedding planner, the virgin suicides, dick, fight club...la la la i<3 br="" movies="">
5. How do you plan to spend your weekend? well last night laura and i rented ocean's 11...today i'm just sitting around. maybe i'll call stacie and see if she wants to do something tonight. and tomorrow my mom and i are going to go to des moines and see star wars again.
so that's that...and here's this weeks.
1. What shampoo do you use? back to basics raspberry almond...sometimes alternating with bedhead dumb blonde to maintain my lovely highlights lol
2. Do you use conditioner? What kind? yes, also back to basics or bedhead
3. When was the last time you got your hair cut? a couple weeks ago...it wasn't too long ago.
4. What styling products do you use? not much...this shine stuff and gel
5. What's your worst hair-related experience? i haven't really had anything TOO terrible happen...but laura's hair lady accidentally gave her spikes. ;)
okay, done with those. i want my new movieline. hayden is on the cover. i'm downloading the pics from it right now and it's taking like 3 hours. but i'm sure it will be worth it.
after i'm done here i'll probably go watch the others. i saw it in the theater and it was fun so i think i'll give it another go. it's something to do, right?
i have 6 days of school left. ahhh i can't remember my envy password! i hope it's the same one i use for everything else lol. otherwise i'll have to find another place to upload my movie reviews to. OOH it worked. so anyway...i'm going to upload several movie reviews and even a few cd reviews...then i might even get ambitious enough to post the star wars layout i've been working on. we'll see. i'm outta here.

da da daaa daaa da da da daaa daaa da da da daaa daaa da da da daaaaa...in case you can't tell, that's the star wars theme. only slightly more than 24 hours until i will be watching it!!!
in case anyone around here happens to care, gilmore girls was excellent tonight and i am much anticipating the season finale. on the same note, smallville wasn't as frightening as the tv guide made it sound. granted, it wasn't LYING when it said chloe was locked in a room with giant teddy bears, but still. so anyway, after seeing the ad for next week's gilmore girls i couldn't help myself and i had to check out some spoilers. i don't usually because i like surprises but you KNOW it's going to be one of those stupid cliffhangers (as is smallville) so really it doesn't much matter if i find out season finale spoilers. the hard part will be not telling megan tomorrow.
speaking of tomorrow...i don't have government OR spanish class! yay! we're going to la carreta for lunch. yummm. i don't think i'll be in many classes on thursday either cuz i'll be too dead tired. i'll probably go to gym just cuz our grade is based on attendance...then i'll go home and sleep for glorious hours. i'm tired right now so sleep sounds inviting. i figure i'll have to take a nap after school tomorrow or something.
i picked up the new vanity fair with reese witherspoon on the cover...she is so gosh darn cute, ya gotta love her. the article was pretty decent too, which is good cuz the rest of the magazine scares me. seriously...i get it when they do stories on cool people and then i never read anything else in it. but it's all good.
let's see...i think i'll do a couple quick updates and then i'll go to bed. expect some more interesting updates on thursday. assuming i wake up. ;)

it's been awhile. i've had lots of baton stuff going on. my recital is tonight, actually. i'll be glad when it's done. then i'll have a lot more time on my hands and i won't have to keep 500 routines in my head.
sometime this afternoon i'm going to buy star wars tickets. my theater is doing a midnight showing on wednesday and laura and i are going to go cuz we're psycho. i'm rather excited. i don't think the theater is open yet, though, so i'm going to wait 45 minutes or so. by then my dad will be home and he can watch lex.
so...once baton is over i might actually UPDATE! yes, you heard right, UPDATE! i need to make a new layout...i have TONS of movie reviews i need to post (including spider-man) and several cd reviews as well. i'll get to it one of these days.
on saturday my mom wants to see spider-man in des moines so i suppose i'll be doing that with her. nothing else to do. besides, there are good coffee places in des moines. i need to find a good movie to rent. maybe i'll look after i pick up the star wars tickets.
on the subject of star wars...emily is the coolest because she brought me this GIANT hayden poster from the star wars display at k-mart. he's on my door and i love it. yay! sorry, i just like to be excited about stuff.

i missed last week's friday five and i'll probably forget to do it tomorrow so i'm going to do last week's today. get it?
1. What's your favorite TV show and why? it's quite a toss-up. i really love friends because it always makes me laugh and puts me in a good mood. on the other hand, i'm also really into smallville. i'm not sure why, considering how cheezy it is sometimes. there's just a really good combination of STUFF that makes it a great show.
2. Who is your favorite television star? that's tough too. as far as their TV parts go i would probably have to say tom welling.
3. What was your favorite TV show as a child? what can i say, i liked full house. not to mention hey dude.
4. What show do you think should have been cancelled by now? ohh there are too many to name. MTV has about 20...plus i'm really not getting the appeal of survivor...and is touched by an angel still on? because if it is, it shouldn't be. hmm. that's all i can come up with at the moment, although i'm sure there are more.
5. What new show do you hope escapes the axe this season? definitely undeclared. that show is so adorable, it deserves to keep on going. also off centre on the wb sunday nights. VERY amusing.
so that's that. if you're keeping up on my ongoing problems with planning activites for prom night, i have an update. granted, i will not be attending prom. but in place of it i have to do something fun, right? so lindsey, emily and i want to go see cabaret. fun fun. after we eat at olive garden of course. i have to take 3 rolls of film at after prom for the yearbook so we're going to go to that. it should be pretty fun though.
i'm very much looking forward to tomorrow. for starters, it's friday! also, i'll get my spider-man cartoon maker. i would have gotten it today if my brother would have woken up to sign the fed ex guy's paper. but no. so i'll have to wait. i miss that game so much; i can't wait to have it again. let's see, what else...we get to eat a lot of bread in spanish. that's always fun.
i don't think i have any plans for tomorrow night. that's pretty amazing. no baton...i don't think...i hope...maybe i'll just sit around and make spider-man cartoons all night. oh, i rented the ice storm and reindeer games to watch this weekend so i'll probably watch one of them tomorrow too. yay. i'm so excited for tomorrow now!
i have to go to baton in about 15 minutes...blah...i don't mind teaching privates but i don't especially enjoy the tiny twirlers class or the competition class that does put me in, coach. mostly because that song is extremely dorky and it always gets in my head.

yesterday some guy ran into my car while it was PARKED so my dad is trying to get it looking decent. he smashed my front headlight and somehow managed to hit it so my rearview mirror fell off. on top of that i really need gas and my back right turn signal bulb went out a couple weeks ago. how wonderful.
