i'm cold. grr. soo...yesterday's trip to ISU was pretty uneventful. i mean, we entertained ourselves. we were in the library for like an hour...i think we were supposed to be there all day except for lunch but...it was boring there.
i really want baton to be cancelled. actually my class already is but i want them all to be so i don't have to go. we won't have anything to do...sandy has all the music so basically we'll have a bunch of kids and nothing to do with them. it would make me really happy not to have to go to baton this week.
i really want it to be the weekend. for whatever reason i'm getting all excited about the weekend. i don't have interesting plans or anything so it's weird. i guess i am trying to talk my mom into going to des moines so we can try out another theater. i want to see the time machine. and while we're there we can go to jitters. i could really use a blended mocha right about now. and maybe we can visit lex again. he is so so cute! i don't have a scanner or i'd put up his picture.
BRRRR it's cold. mr. holdiman is making us do this really stupid project in government where we have to form political parties and do presentations about certain issues and blah blah blah. it could be worse but since we like never do anything in that class i'm not used to actually working in that class.
ARGH! what is up with this?! "cannot download this song due to copyright restrictions" okay then take it off the page instead of telling me it's there! it makes no sense cuz i just downloaded like 12 songs by the same group and it never said that before. whatever. it is too cold. i wish we didn't have to write term papers in AP english. there aren't very many sources for my topic so...yeah. and i can't ever motivate myself to work on it. it seems pointless to write 20 pages just to show that you can. buuut i have to do it. unfortunately.

Reasons Mallory Hates Large Amounts Of Snow:
1. Snow is icky
2. It snows ONCE all winter and then it decides on March 1st it will snow 12 inches? i think not.
3. It's JOSH NIGHT, the predicted travel conditions will prevent laura and i from fully enjoying it because we won't be able to go to ames.
4. It's Friday...why can't it snow on SUNDAY night so we can miss school on monday? By monday all the snow will be gone. okay, that's probably not true but still.
5. I'm supposed to go to grundy center to visit my puppy tomorrow. What if the roads are too icky? i would cry!
6. Although I did survive the slickest night of the year, i do not especially enjoy driving in immense amounts of snow...not to mention blizzard conditions.
In case you managed not to figure it out...we're expecting a lot of snow tonight. i don't care if it snows as long as i get to see my puppy. and it would be nice if it waited until 11 or 12 tonight to get bad because laura and i want to go to ames. mi madre probably won't let me because of the weather forecast. as you read above, i'm not big on driving in the snow but i could brave it. now we might have to restrict ourselves to staying in town. boo to that.
i guess i'll wait till tomorrow to worry about seeing the puppy. my mom is pretty crazy, she'll drive in anything. so i figure chances of seeing the puppy are pretty large at the moment. so far it's only snowed like half an inch, but it's really windy. no problems driving home from school though.
i'm finally getting the caffeine i've needed desperately all day. i don't know why i was so tired today, but i was. so now i'm having some frappuccino. yay for frappucino! i hope it wakes me up a bit. i wish morpheus would work! blaaaah.

i have successfully lived through 4 days of school this week. now i just have to deal with baton tonight. it's so long and boring.
tomorrow school shouldn't be too terrible. and tomorrow is josh night #3! i'm excited because we're making josh cookies and that'll be fun.
i want to see jay and silent bob strike back but i doubt the video stores have any left. plus i have no money at the moment. i guess i'll wait.
friends tonight! of course i have to tape it because of baton...i'm sad, though, because i think rachel is going to hurt joey's feelings!!! :(
oh yay. 40 days and 40 nights is rated fresh @ rotten tomatoes. so far, anyway. morpheus finally told me why it was being so stupid (see below). apparently something happened that made the current software not work. or something. whatever. i'm just mad cuz i can't download songs until they fix it.
today in spanish we got this giant packed of subjunctive worksheets. i think we're like 3/4 of the way done. go us. you know, i'm just gonna go cuz i can't seem to talk about anything except how happy i am that tomorrow is friday and how much i am going to enjoy my weekend. i really wanna see my puppy!!! and josh!!! lol.

ahhh...what's wrong with me? i'm never online anymore. okay that's not true. i'm just not online that often. which means less updates. but that's okay cuz i'll more than make up for it over the summer.
friday was josh night! we tried to make josh pizza and it didn't turn out the best lol. but we highly enjoyed leno. this friday we get to have another josh night cuz 40 days and 40 nights comes out. how fun! we're going to make josh cookies.
yesterday my mom and i went to a puppy farm in grundy center and looked at all the cute little puppies. we got this sweet baby bichon frise but he won't be ready to come home with us for another 3 weeks. we're going to go visit him next weekend though. :) then after that i had to perform at MCC...yuck...then when i got home stacie called and wanted to do something so we went to arby's and sat around for a long time...went to wal-mart cuz it's fun...and finally we went to see queen of the damned.
neither of us were like "OOH I REALLY WANT TO SEE IT!" but there wasn't anything else even halfway decent on so we went. it was...amusing. if you want to see a decent movie with vampires you're better off renting interview with the vampire. it was weird because the two movies have the same character in them but it's like they totally don't correspond with each other at all...you know? but whatever. i'm still upset because hart's war isn't here. boo. and i'm upset because today is sunday and that means i have to go to school tomorrow. i am SICK TO DEATH of school. so yeah...i'm gonna go...do something.

the canadians got a gold medal. good. granted, it's probably lost its appeal but it's better than nothing. moving on.
it's finally friday...and i even have plans. angie and i are going to see crossroads. there's a dance tonight but i don't know if i'll go to that or not. i would but i'm afraid they'll have that same terrible DJ that ruins all the dances.
i'm hunnnnnnnngry. my lunch was kinda small because i found a hair in my tetrazini and decided i probably shouldn't eat it. angie and i are going to KFC and dairy queen so i'm trying not to eat yet. ;)
i'm upset because hart's war isn't in town. i really want to see it. i think my mom and i might go somewhere to see something tomorrow (wow, that's vague) but obviously i really don't know what. she wants to see a beautiful mind. i'd prefer something i haven't already seen but whatever.
i'm very very very very VERY happy that we have a long weekend. on monday i might even be ambitious enough to make a new layout or something crazy like that. lol...today in government elisabeth and i somehow got on the subject of the powerpuff girls' teeth...because looks like they only have one row...like, there's no line in the middle so it's like they have three giant teeth and that's it. that made us wonder what it would be like to have your top teeth and bottom teeth stuck together. for whatever reason we found the concept highly amusing. we were discussing how you could put a window (with shutters) and a door on your throat...lol i guess we're probably the only ones who found it funny but that's alright.
there was a lame pep assembly today. the skippers were really bad, which was sad cuz usually they're the best part. they're like...a group of kids that jump rope but they do really cool stuff while they jump rope. yeah. it's cool, i promise. the cheerleaders threw each other around and whatnot. that was slightly fun because usually they don't do anything cool at all. i just finished making a cd for shireen...she told me to "have fun" and put whatever i wanted on it so um she has some interesting stuff. i don't really know what kind of stuff she likes so i hope she doesn't hate all the songs on it or anything.
i'm so bored. i don't know what to do for 45 minutes...that's how long i have before i have to go get angie. i just don't know what i'll do. it's all good.

i am mad at the pairs figure skating judges. extremely mad. the canadian team freakin' deserved to win and the whole competition was a total joke since they didn't...even though we ALL know they deserved to. moving on.
today was twins day at school. like a dozen sophomore guys dressed up as mr. johnson. lol. the rest of the week in AP english we're watching a movie...i was afraid we'd have to watch something stupid so imagine my surprise when mr. laville tells us we're watching dogma. i LOVE that movie! :) :) :) it makes me happy that we're watching it.
ohh, since i didn't want to deal with the layout i was going to put up i gave in and changed the font on all the subpages so you can read it. at least i think i did. now i am going to go to the bookstore and see if the vanity fair with hayden is out yet. probably not, but i can get a pretzel while i'm at the mall or something.

uhm...the new layout thing isn't going well. lol i realized that the html wouldn't be as easy as i was thinking so then i was like "heck, i don't want to deal with it right now because i'll just get frustrated." dunno if i'll use that layout or not. i really like it but i'm just so sick of things not working right on my layouts sooo i don't know. whatever. i'll deal with it later.
happy news: josh is going to be on leno on the 22nd. i know everyone is excited.

my computer had some difficulties over the weekend so i didn't really update. okay, i didn't update at all. ;) nothing much happened. but i enjoyed myself anyway. just about anything is better than going to school, right? today was an exceptionally fun day at school thanks to a motivational assembly that i didn't attend.
i'm really excited for the TV that's on tonight. tuesday is the best TV night ever. new gilmore girls, new smallville...plus i can tape undeclared. assuming it's one i haven't seen.
we took a quiz today in spanish and judging by mrs. wildt's reaction we didn't do too great on it. i think i did okay though...it didn't seem to terribly hard. but maybe that's just me.
i have to burn a couple cds for amy tonight. she's going to burn me something too but i don't know what. lol that could be frightening.
i really want burger king. maybe i'll have that for supper if i can talk mi familia into it.
i am currently downloading "let's get loud" for my baton teacher. fun times.
there is this awesome blanket at wal-mart...it's that really nifty picasso painting...i really want it and it's on clearance so i might have to talk my mom into a trip to wal-mart tonight. hey, we could stop at burger king on the way home. ;)
i have to swim tomorrow morning. YUCK. i hope since our last day mr. henning doesn't make us do a ton of stuff like he did yesterday. that was torturous. at least it's our last day. i hate swimming in gym. swimming is really NOT my sport.
sometime really soon i have to make up a baton solo to an as yet unknown song. i'll probably do that this weekend. i have to perform it at a game in like a week or two. who really knows.
we have a pride week assembly on friday. yay. i hear there is no senior skit this year because mrs. lowry thought it was too risque. OKAY i know that a couple years back the seniors did a a slightly inappropriate skit and some teachers complained but now they are just getting waaaay too strict. you can't NOT have a senior skit at the pride week assembly! that's just wrong! i don't like mrs. lowry much. fortunately andrea seems to take after her dad more. i like andrea's dad. he's funny. okay i'm sure you all really care what i think of people's parents. i'll go away now. if you're bored tonight watch the WB!!!! :) :) :)

hello hello. i need to switch my calendar, i forgot to this morning. it's very cold in my house. i am currently downloading a few songs for lindsey's cd. after the one i'm doing now i'll probably stop for today.
eventually i'll have to talk to laura and do a little rock paper scissors so we know what we're going to do tonight. whatever it is i'm not changing out of my superman pajama pants and "alrighty then" sweatshirt. i don't really care if people stare at me. lol.
today emily had lunch with shireen and megan and me. the freshmen sat at a different table, i think emily scared them away. ;)
let's see...all i really have to do this weekend is work on my lord of the flies paper. and i don't really even have to do that because it's not due until wednesday. but i'll consider doing it over the weekend anyway. plus i want to finish my book. oh yeah, and i want to have either a hershey pie from burger king or a mocha smoothie from dairy queen. don't you love my ambitions for the weekend? lol.
okay, you know that new jennifer lopez song...the remix for ain't it funny?? she totally samples don't leave me by the backstreet boys. and if they don't credit whoever wrote that song it's a total ripoff. ANYWAY.
lindsey had to go and put down "my sacrifice" by creed as a song she wanted on her cd. I HATE CREED!!!! i don't know what it is but they just make me gag every time i hear them. i'm deleting it as soon as i burn it. it'll probably make my computer explode or something.
i started to watch proof of life today but then i decided i'd rather watch it on video in my room than on dvd in the VERY COLD living room. so...so much for that.
today i got a letter from the dentist. i have an appointment scheduled in april and they were just letting me know it was at 8 instead of 7 or something. like i'm really worried about when my APRIL dentist appointment is. but it was a nice thought.
*somebody saaaaaaave me, i don't care how you do it...just staaaaaay, staaaaay come on...i've been waiting for you* the guy that sings for remy zero really scares me. speaking of scary...the other night i was watching jay leno and they had that little girl from i am sam on...dakota fanning. i couldn't decide if she was cute or spooky. sometimes she said funny things but she seemed really fake and weird. i dunno, i'm surprised she didn't give me nightmares. okay song's done...adios.

ANYWAY, i was going to tell you how excited i am because i figured out that the oscar predictions are different because the SAG nominees have been announced and they are usually VERY close to oscar nominees. so everybody say YAY that hayden was nominated for a screen actor's guild award!!! well before i leave for good i've got an oscarwatch updated that i found rather interesting. the predictions have changed quite a bit and now black hawk down is expected to get a best picture nomination, not to mention that kevin kline and hayden christensen are both predicted nominations for best actor and best supporting actor. i SO do not get how they come up with these predictions but ya know what...i'll go with it.

still snowing...i was totally disappointed this morning, we didn't even have a delay! maybe tomorrow. that would be nice. i won't bet on it though.
i was at baton for like 6 hours tonight. okay, 4 1/2, but STILL. jaime wasn't at trio practice. i guess she took it for granted we wouldn't have it since there was like a blizzard outside. but we did. my feet hurt. so does my neck. and my shoulders.
ooh ooh i just watched my tape of friends...it makes me sad that rachel moved in with ross! joey is too nice! he never should have suggested that! *sigh* oh well. we'll see what happens next week.
sometime this weekend i should write my lord of the flies paper. i actually came up with a topic and wrote my opening paragraph already. be proud of me.
it's really cold. so cold that i am drinking my mom's fat free sugar free decaffienated mocha coffee. doesn't that just sound completely flavorless? it's not bad really. it's warm. that's all i care.
laura wasn't at school today. last night she was talking about "making her own delay" today so i figured she'd show up for afternoon classes but i'm not sure if she did or not.
well...tomorrow's friday...nothing planned, but who knows. maybe i'll come up with something to do. probably not, but i can always hope. ;) well, i'm gonna go check out oscarwatch...do me a favor and pray that we'll have at least a delay tomorrow! hehe.
i was at baton for like 6 hours tonight. okay, 4 1/2, but STILL. jaime wasn't at trio practice. i guess she took it for granted we wouldn't have it since there was like a blizzard outside. but we did. my feet hurt. so does my neck. and my shoulders.
ooh ooh i just watched my tape of friends...it makes me sad that rachel moved in with ross! joey is too nice! he never should have suggested that! *sigh* oh well. we'll see what happens next week.
sometime this weekend i should write my lord of the flies paper. i actually came up with a topic and wrote my opening paragraph already. be proud of me.
it's really cold. so cold that i am drinking my mom's fat free sugar free decaffienated mocha coffee. doesn't that just sound completely flavorless? it's not bad really. it's warm. that's all i care.

i don't know what's up with blogger, apparently my stuff will show up here but not on my page or something. whatever.
so anyway...it's snowing hard for the first time all winter. i'm surprised i'm still alive after my trek home from the Y after baton...it freaks me out to drive when it's slick. i'm thinking there will AT LEAST be a delay tomorrow...perhaps no school...if it keeps up like this.
i'm tired. i don't know why i'm still up. my mom did all my FAFSA stuff tonight. i'm very proud of her.
oh, i noticed a lil' problem with my layout -- all the text is white on a white background. i'll have to fix that tomorrow. until then...highlight the stuff you really want to see.

for the first time all winter it's supposed to snow A LOT tonight. i want it to snow now so that baton is canceled. that would be nice. but right now the best i can hope for is a school delay tomorrow or something.
yesterday i ran all over the school and finally got my schedule changed so i'm in a decent gym class. as an added bonus, that class has already had swimming twice so i'll only have to swim three times. and if we get delayed or canceled tomorrow, i might only have to swim TWO times. wouldn't that be great?
speaking of great - smallville last night was really good. really good. take my word for it.
amy got her report card in the mail today so maybe i'll get mine. how exciting. lol. hey, i like getting mail. yesterday i got mail from iowa telling me about their computer stuff. which was good because my mom and i were just wondering about it last weekend.
arrrrgh ginger is barking, brb.
alright, all better. today in AP my group presented our chapter in lord of the flies. we had the last chapter and there was a lot of junk in it so it took us the entire class period (granted, it was wednesday so the class was shorter than usual) and we're still not done. i think mr. laville forgot we were supposed to take a vocab test today. i need to come up with a topic for my term paper. he doesn't mind if it's something trivial...he says to find something we're interested in cuz it's a long paper so we might as well try to pick something we'll slightly enjoy writing about. he keeps telling us about this one paper that analyzed greatful dead lyrics...so i thought maybe i i could do my matrix/star wars comparision. BUT i need sources and it would be hard to find sources for that. so i dunno. on top of that we have a LOTF paper due next wednesday and i have NO idea what i'm going to do that paper on. i hate coming up with topics. BLAH to coming up with topics. today i have a little government homework. it's irritating cuz i might actually have to read the chapter to do it. he gave us an assignment over chapter 2 before we even learned chapter 2. i hate it when teachers do that, it doesn't help at all.
i'm just glad this week is going slightly faster for me than last week. and i don't *think* i have any plans this weekend. do i? don't think so. so i'll probably get bored, but that's okay. i'm trying to decide what to do until 4 when i have to get ready for baton. maybe i'll watch that movie i rented yesterday. ohhh i wonder if lee took back the dvd he got last weekend...i wanted to watch that.
someday i'll put up a new layout on here. i think what i'll do for the next couple weeks is add some links for content over on the side and just use this as a layout for a bit. i'm lazy, what can i say. or if i get bored enough this weekend i'll make a real layout. actually, i could do that now. but i'd rather not.
this sweater is driving me crazy and i want to go change into a tank top. so i'm leaving. adios.

today was slightly more interesting than usual. AMY - if you happen to stumble across this blog DON'T READ IT because i'm putting it all in your letter. ;)
okay. so today we had our pride week kickoff assembly. that means all my morning classes were short. in gym we sat around cuz we didn't have time to go to the bowling alley. in AP mr. laville gave us this CRAZY story by this guy in ireland that wants to eat kids and have four women for every man and so on and so forth. blah blah blah. the assembly was decent. the people with lighters were amusing...mr. reyes sang hero (lol)...the wonderful principal and assistant principal did a duet to i got you babe that frightened me immensely.
after that i went to goverment and elisabeth told me a very interesting story. it seriously took her like half an hour to tell me this little story. of course that is including the time we took to visit mr. johnson in the social studies office and eat some popcorn. oh yeah, it was that class where reyes came in and sang danny's song for us. that song is excellent and it's so cute when he sings it. ;) plus nicole was in his class that hour so i got to pull her hair. in spanish we had to do these little skits and luke smashed his elbow through mrs. wildt's overhead projector accidentally. that kid is just funny. he can't even help it.
tonight is the big game against mason city that we'll probably lose. i'm so optimistic. but it's true...mason city is ranked #1 in the state and we're like #6 so it would make sense that we would lose. they're expecting the roundhouse to be filled to capacity...let me tell ya, around here there's a lot of hype around basketball and baseball so there are huge turnouts for games.
i just ran around town trying to find something fun to buy. a poster, a cd, a video...SOMETHING. all i ended up with were fuzzy dice. and i saw some guy at kwik star buying cigarettes and then i saw him again at k-mart...i didn't recognize him but he was like "are you following me? i've seen you in like three different places!" and proceeded to tell me about his software-buying difficulties for several minutes before i could escape only to discover that they only had the princess bride on dvd and i didn't really want to spend that much money on an old movie. buuut it's all good because it's going to be on tv sometime this week so i'll just tape it i suppose. *hiccup* don't mind me.
i need to go to wal-mart tonight and get some blank cds and blank videos. stacie and elisabeth want copies of our herland video for american lit last year. it's high-quality, lemme tell ya. what else do i need? oh, i want like a little cd player or something for my car because my car's tape player is TERRIBLE. it would be nice if i could just get a new thing for my car that actually worked but i don't know if i can talk the parentals into that. do i need anything else? i was going to check and see if they had the legolas poster yet cuz they were out last time i checked. uhm...that might be everything actually. although i'm sure i could come up with like 500 other things i "need" from wal-mart.
this is a really long blog. but that's okay, i've been slacking lately so i need to catch up. i don't think i have any homework this weekend. excellent. i wish my mom would hurry up and come home so i can make her go to wal-mart with me. i really like wal-mart, in case you hadn't noticed. and i think we should get some food too cuz i didn't have any lunch and i'm hungry!
friends made me angry last night. i don't like it when they stop them right at some crucial moment. and i have to wait for the stupid olympics to get over before i can see another new one. i happen to prefer the summer olympics to winter. i used to watch a lot of figure skating but it gets really boring after awhile...now my favorite is aerial skiing. it's really really fun! the bobsleds are kinda fun too. :) anyway. my dog is barking madly so i have to go bring her inside. later.

i actually have homework tonight. 2 minutes worth of government and 2 minutes worth of spanish, but still. i don't have homework very often.
today stacie and i did our spanish skit...half the class understood what we were saying and laughed...the other half stared at us blankly. lol.
i have to go to baton tonight...help w/ tiny twirlers, then trio practice, then the "ease on down the road" class and then (hopefully) i can go home.
kelsey wants to go see a walk to remember tomorrow. i have a feeling i'll like it enough that i'll want to see it twice BUT for whatever subconscious reason i think i want saturday to be the first time i see it. i'm weird, i know. so yeah...i'm gonna go try to deal with the new layout. ;)

well let's see...i went to lunch with laura today (applebee's) and then we um sat around and watched tv for a long time. and we looked up that guy from black hawk down that was the delta dude b/c he looked really familiar to us and we couldn't figure out why. go figure, he's little josh's dad in pearl harbor. and he was in armageddon and go and some other stuff.
ANYWAY, after watching the michael jackson marathon and "is it a man or a woman?" on maury we decided to dye our hair. don't want to go into too much hair-dying detail. laura's is really cute. mine's not bad but i dunno. i just like it blonde. who knows, this might grow on me eventually. or else i'll re-highlight it next weekend. ;) we just thought it would be fun to show up at school as brunettes tomorrow.
oh blah. school. this week is going to go sloooowwww. i guarantee it. it was really nice out today, it felt like spring break or something. unfortunately, it wasn't. lol i wish. i enjoy time off school greatly. now i'm going to go entertain myself until laura stops by after her dance class...hasta luego.

okay if my last blog didn't work i will probably scream. i'm not sure if it did or not so i'll pretend it did for now.
so anyway...the golden globes were okay. i was upset that nicole kidman won best actress in a musical or comedy but ewan didn't win best actor...come ON, nicole kidman is overrated. she really is. i don't hate her but i'm not a fan either. a beautiful mind won a lot of stuff, which is good i suppose. i liked that movie quite a bit. josh was there and he presented...that was fun. ;) hayden didn't win his award but uh who really thought he would? lol.
i made plans with mi madre to go to des moines next weekend. we're going to try out another movie theater on a walk to remember. see, we're going to all the theaters in des moines to see which one we want to see star wars on. they closed the riviera (the COOL one) so now we have to find the next best option. i could probably find a friend to go with but i like going to des moines and testing out the theaters and going to jitters and all that fun stuff. i'm excited.
i'm glad i have a short week of school because when i have happy weekend things (you don't even UNDERSTAND how excited i am for a walk to remember!) my weeks seem to take forrrreeeevvver. it's weird that when i go back it'll be a new semester and i won't have sales class. no complaints. but i hope my government class is decent. gym too.
i took a nice long nap this afternoon so i'm like really awake right now. i might have to go continue watching outside providence until i'm somewhat tired. adios.

let's see...i quite enjoyed black hawk down. it's a bit on the depressing side, but why shouldn't it be? it's just telling a true story. it wasn't as gory as i was expecting...which is good, i guess. i was like half deaf when i walked out of the theater but it's all good.

i'm sure everyone will be happy to know that the same DJ that's been doing the dances all year was there last night and, yes, he played cotton-eyed joe. i don't make these things up. we left after like half and hour and sat around laura's house watching castaway on tv until we couldn't stand it anymore.
my mom just called and said she won't be home until 1 so now i have to wait 3 hours for chinese instead of 2. :( then after that i have to call laura so we can go to black hawk down. i'm excited! yay!
then i'll have two days to make up a baton solo. usually i use unique music that people aren't sick of but sandy wants me to do something "everyone knows," aka something everyone hates because they've heard it 2000 times. but i was thinking i might do tainted love. that song cracks me up. but it's a little hard to choreograph baton stuff to so i might have to be a rebel and do a song no one knows. my mom wants me to do the can't fight the moonlight remix...that might be decent. i dunno, i'll have to listen and see if baton moves start popping into my head.
i had a happy start to my day because i got my semester grade for spanish in my email (thanks mrs. wildt!) and i have an A. of course i KNEW i would, but it's still nice to know. i should have As in everything except perhaps AP english. i missed a vocab test a LONG time ago and it brought my grade down freakin' 9% to a B...which made me angry cuz it was just like a 30 point thing...but mr. laville hasn't shown us our grades in FOREVER so i have no clue what i'm at right now and i have a feeling the test from yesterday won't help my cause a lot. it wasn't terrible but since we didn't know what was on it we couldn't study, which does tend to cause problems sometimes.
oh well. i'm off to contemplate solo songs and to read about the bear man helping bilbo and gandalf and the trolls.

then i'll have two days to make up a baton solo. usually i use unique music that people aren't sick of but sandy wants me to do something "everyone knows," aka something everyone hates because they've heard it 2000 times. but i was thinking i might do tainted love. that song cracks me up. but it's a little hard to choreograph baton stuff to so i might have to be a rebel and do a song no one knows. my mom wants me to do the can't fight the moonlight remix...that might be decent. i dunno, i'll have to listen and see if baton moves start popping into my head.
i had a happy start to my day because i got my semester grade for spanish in my email (thanks mrs. wildt!) and i have an A. of course i KNEW i would, but it's still nice to know. i should have As in everything except perhaps AP english. i missed a vocab test a LONG time ago and it brought my grade down freakin' 9% to a B...which made me angry cuz it was just like a 30 point thing...but mr. laville hasn't shown us our grades in FOREVER so i have no clue what i'm at right now and i have a feeling the test from yesterday won't help my cause a lot. it wasn't terrible but since we didn't know what was on it we couldn't study, which does tend to cause problems sometimes.
oh well. i'm off to contemplate solo songs and to read about the bear man helping bilbo and gandalf and the trolls.

it's freezing in my house. brrr. anyway...i got back from school awhile ago...both my tests were on the easy side so that's good. now i'm just hanging out all day until laura gets off work @ 9. we're going to watch my tape of josh on letterman and then go to the dance. i'm really hoping they got a different DJ than the one they've been using this year, he's terrible. TERRIBLE, i say! all he plays is really bad early 90s dance music that i've been sick of since 7th grade, like cotton-eyed joe and stuff. and that's, like, the BEST of the songs he plays.
there's a pretty big game tonight i guess...our cool basketball team is undefeated (hey, they have to be good at something) so there are usually huge crowds. that means high attendance at the dance afterward. which is good, more people make it more fun.
oh my what am i going to do today? ooh there's this huuuge spread on black hawk down on the front of the iowa life or whatever it's called section of the des moines register. it has all sorts of fun stuff and a lovely five-star review. i'm excited!
my mom is in iowa city today...i think iowa city anyway...well, wherever she is she's staying overnight and when she gets back tomorrow we're gonna go have some chinese food. yum! :) and after that laura and i are heading off to the matinee of black hawk down. good times. i hope it's in town! LOL i should probably check and be sure. it sure as heck should be. if not i guess we can go to ames. alright why is the movie theater website so slow?! oh, there we go. let's see...YAY it's here! :) 1:00 and 4:10??? boo. that means we'll have to go at 4:10 since i won't get back from lunch with my mom in time to go at 1.
since i'm speedy and i got done with both my tests today before the testing time was over i read like 100 pages of the hobbit. it's getting better. you really have to get into it. i mean, i liked the beginning but it wasn't like suspenseful or anything so i didn't have any reason to pick it up and read more. but like i said...getting better. i think i'll do a review of the a walk to remember soundtrack, post it, then go find something interesting to do. look for a review of black hawk down tomorrow.

okay i swear i've blogged since monday. but apparently not. let's see...letterman was highly enjoyable. josh told funny stories and whatnot...always a good time! :) and i got premiere...the article is mostly about black hawk down and it's a bit on the boring side but there are some fun pictures and a couple good interviews.
tomorrow is the first day of semester tests and guess what? i don't have any. in yearbook we're just cleaning the journalism room because hanson likes to make us his slaves and in spanish our "test" is a writing that's really easy. friday i have two actual tests but i think they're going to be easy too.
i have to go to baton tonight. fortunately the classes i teach are getting their costumes tonight so half the class will be spent getting them into their outfits. i get bored doing their routines with them over and over. then MY class...well, that's always interesting. i think we're starting a new routine this week. hopefully. i'm kinda sick of the old one.
then tomorrow i'll have to tape friends again (assuming SOMEONE doesn't turn off my tv) because i think alaina and jaime and i are supposed to work on our trio or something. i dunno. i just get a little confused sometimes. i'd rather not go on thursday AT ALL but what can ya do?
