i'm sure everyone will be happy to know that the same DJ that's been doing the dances all year was there last night and, yes, he played cotton-eyed joe. i don't make these things up. we left after like half and hour and sat around laura's house watching castaway on tv until we couldn't stand it anymore.
my mom just called and said she won't be home until 1 so now i have to wait 3 hours for chinese instead of 2. :( then after that i have to call laura so we can go to black hawk down. i'm excited! yay!
then i'll have two days to make up a baton solo. usually i use unique music that people aren't sick of but sandy wants me to do something "everyone knows," aka something everyone hates because they've heard it 2000 times. but i was thinking i might do tainted love. that song cracks me up. but it's a little hard to choreograph baton stuff to so i might have to be a rebel and do a song no one knows. my mom wants me to do the can't fight the moonlight remix...that might be decent. i dunno, i'll have to listen and see if baton moves start popping into my head.
i had a happy start to my day because i got my semester grade for spanish in my email (thanks mrs. wildt!) and i have an A. of course i KNEW i would, but it's still nice to know. i should have As in everything except perhaps AP english. i missed a vocab test a LONG time ago and it brought my grade down freakin' 9% to a B...which made me angry cuz it was just like a 30 point thing...but mr. laville hasn't shown us our grades in FOREVER so i have no clue what i'm at right now and i have a feeling the test from yesterday won't help my cause a lot. it wasn't terrible but since we didn't know what was on it we couldn't study, which does tend to cause problems sometimes.
oh well. i'm off to contemplate solo songs and to read about the bear man helping bilbo and gandalf and the trolls.
